The Barrier Truth
Broken Hill
Offset Newspaper Printer

We are seeking a qualified tradesperson in Offset Lithographic Printing.

The Barrier Truth in the heritage listed city of Broken Hill is undergoing fast progression and is therefore needing another print qualified tradesperson.

Currently we produce 2 newspapers per week, with a major emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction. We are a tight-knit bunch of fellow Barrier workers, all working together to try to produce the best product possible.

We have recently upgraded to the latest pre-press plate making technology, which is a pleasure to use. The Manroland Goss Community Newspaper press is manually operated and produces a high definition, quality newspaper.

The available position will see you report directly to the Print Manager, with duties including but not limited to: setting up press, running press according to high quality standards, and the typical maintenance requirements. Non-print days are used as print machine maintenance and cleaning, with an ongoing schedule for upkeep and maintenance of the press room and surrounds.

If you are looking for an alternative to the city grind and interested in a rewarding role where you are an integral part of a fun positive team, look no further. Considering you are interested but not experienced in roll fed offset printing, we at the Barrier are willing to cross train the right candidate.

About our town

Broken Hill is unique. Surrounded by a stunning outback landscape and famous for its colourful history, it is Australia’s only National Heritage Listed City.

It is home to the iconic Broken Heel Festival, Mundi Mundi Bash, The Living Desert, Historic Silverton and the most amazing sunsets you will ever see. Rich with art, we regularly attract television and film productions, and thrive on sports.

You will be pleasantly surprised at what the outback has to offer!
