A great opportunity has arisen for a cadet journalist at the West Wyalong Advocate with the possibility to advance your career in a full-round role.

We are a community-based print newspaper serving the Bland Shire for more than 120 years. 

The successful applicant will be proficient in:​

• Identifying and publishing newsworthy stories in the community including court, crime, Council, sport and community events;

• Writing feature articles and advertorials;

• Building relationships and liaising with the community;

• Digital photography;

• Have exceptional spelling and grammar;

• Computer skills with an ability to learn;

• Ability to work flexible and irregular hours, when required;

• A Driver’s Licence and access to own vehicle;

• Willingness to work independently as well as within a team environment;

• Good organisation and time management skills.
